External BIM Manager Package
External BIM Manager is a package of services that includes all aspects of BIM and CAD management, but is scaled down to the needs of a smaller practice.
Initial Setup
To get things started right, we perform initial assessment of your environment and prepare an implementation plan. We examine your existing software, hardware, network infrastructure, and benchmark performance. We also evaluate your current standards, templates, and libraries as well as the experience of your staff with BIM technology. Based on the findings, an implementation plan is developed that includes training, standard and template development, software installation and configuration, and hardware recommendations. The plan is developed based on your individual needs, so it may not include all items, or may include additional components.
Training
Hands-on, seminar style, and over the shoulder training available for some of the most widely used BIM software – Revit (Architecture, MEP, Structure), Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu… Training level can vary from fundamentals to advanced or workflow specific, based on your needs.
Standards and Template Development
Depending on the findings from the initial assessment we may recommend template creation. Developing a quality template can save time on all projects and allow you to produce consistent, high quality deliverables. We will create a Revit template that incorporates your company standards and reduces the project setup time. Managing standards does not stop at template development. We will train your designers to properly use the developed standards and will implement tools to enforce standard compliance.
Onsite Presence
An important part of having a BIM manager, is the interaction with the users and providing in-person support and coaching. Even though a lot of tasks can be achieved remotely, we reserve weekly onsite time that can be used for training, user group meetings, support or project setup and assistance.
Support
Having reliable technical support is critical especially when you have a deadline. Having someone familiar with your templates, standards and workflows significantly improves the quality of the technical support. We provide both onsite and remote support.
Software Management
Managing you Autodesk, Adobe, Bluebeam, Office accounts and licenses can be hard enough, even if you don’t need to do design work or run a business. Installing and keeping software up to date adds to that burden. We take care of the software management for you, so you can focus on your business.
IT Services (Optional)
For small offices with no dedicated IT support, consolidating the BIM and IT services provides both better value and service. We can provide server setup and maintenance, network maintenance, workstation setup, printer setup and maintenance, and IT support.
